Two Hours Traffic

I said I would try my best to keep on top of this and it has been two weeks since my initial post, tsk tsk.....I will try better to stay on top of this.

This weeks post is about a little independent band from out east, Two Hours Traffic and their CD Little Jabs. I know this is not a new release, as it was put out in the summer of '07, but I love this album and want more people to know about them. I was introduced to this band through my fiancee, who was introduced to them by a friend. It has been a long time since a new Canadian act came out that I was really excited about, probably not since the late 1990's when I heard the Dears for the first time.

From the opening track Nighthawks to the closing Arms Akimbo this album is full of infectious pop melodies that get you singing along with the lyrics. I am telling you go out and buy this CD, you will not be disappointed!

Inaugural Post

Welcome one and all to the inaugural post for my new blog "Ian's Playlist". I will try my best to stay as current as possible with my posts. They will not always be for new CD's, sometimes just what's playing on my iTunes. I will try my best to give you my honest opinions to new and older music as well as my favourite song of the CD. You will quickly learn that while I like a lot of music, you will not find posts on country or dance music, the rare rap post may appear.

This week's post is going to discuss Death Cab for Cutie's latest release Narrow Stairs. This is the first Death Cab album I have purchased. I have known of the band for years through mentions on different TV shows but had never listened. I picked up this CD about a week and a half ago and can't put it down. This CD quickly became a favourite of mine and in my list for top 5 releases of 2008. With its blend of melodic tunes and harder guitar driven songs you will find everything you want. I highly recommend you go out and purchase this album either on iTunes or at your local music store.
